Human Rights 101 Part b- The ontario human rights code
Failing to acknowledge the Deaf community's right to their own space, as well as accessibility and access to barrier- free communication, is in violation of their basic human rights. Although the Code of Rights does not specifically mention Deaf individuals, it dosen't have to. Any violation of these rights, is a violation of humans rights, and therefore against the rights of the Deaf community (OHRC, 2015).
